  9. Checkbook Accountant is a checkbook recording program.
  10. It is intended to be used as a companion to a checkbook
  11. register (where you record transactions), not a
  12. replacement.  What this program offers is a simple way of
  13. balancing checkbooks, tracking bank transactions, and
  14. recording budgeted transactions.
  15.  
  16. The program was designed to be functional using either the
  17. mouse or keyboard.  Not all features have this duality,
  18. but most do.  Another design consideration was to include
  19. as many useful and timesaving features into one program.
  20. For instance, you can scroll through any list by dragging
  21. the scroll bar, using the arrow gadgets, or using the
  22. cursor keys on the keyboard (along with SHIFT, ALT, or
  23. by itself).  Also, the HELP key is available for on-line
  24. help almost anywhere in the program.  Just be sure that
  25. the cursor is not in a string gadget when pressing the
  26. HELP key.

  28. This release (0.9) of Checkbook Accountant is functional
  29. for simple checkbook balancing.  Transactions can
  30. reference a budget (from the budget list), but no real
  31. use can be gotten from this until version 1.0 (see Support
  32. for more information).  I am releasing a pre-1.0 version
  33. for testing purposes.  I would like to get this program
  34. to work on as many models and configurations as possible,
  35. and I am asking my fellow Amigans for their assistance.

  79.        This script assigns CA: to the current directory
  80.        and copies the kd_freq.library file to LIBS: (if it
  81.        is not already there).  You can examine this file
  82.        to customize its steps to your computer setup.

  115. This program will be upgraded to version 1.0, hopefully
  116. sometime early next year or as soon as I get a sizeable
  117. break from school work.  That release will enhance budget
  118. functionality to include setting projected budget amounts,
  119. allow transactions to be distributed over a maximum of
  120. five different budgets, and activate the Budget Summary
  121. feature in the Print requester.
